The first natural gold placer of Azerbaijan

Outstanding economic achievements of the Aliyev’s presidency are represented by a natural gold placer stored in the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan. Having the hallmark of 910-980 and weight of 573.32 g, the gold has been extracted from Bashkend deposit in Nakhchivan, and Kurakchay deposit in Goygol district. The gold is filled into a conical transparent plastic cap which is placed on a plastic case with transparent basement. The whole structure is placed on a special Fabergé egg shaped figure made from marbled onyx and nephritoid found in Azerbaijan. Produced during testing activities in 2004, the gold was presented to the Museum by I. Aliyev in 2006.
